Remote Database
RegKeeper can work with remote (FTP) database as it would be local database. The database will automatically downloaded/uploaded when opening/closing it from RegKeeper. To use remote database click Remote Database... on the File menu. Enter the settings for database location in order to allow RegKeeper to download/upload remote database:
- Server Name (IP Address) - specifies the FTP server name where the remote database is located
- Port - specifies the port number to use for FTP connection usually this is 21 or the value of FTP proxy's port
- User Name - specifies the user name to login to FTP server
- Password - specifies the password to login to FTP server
- Passive - specifies to use or not the Passive mode for FTP connection.
Please note: usage of Passive mode is usually obligatory when working behind some firewalls or proxies.
- Use Proxy - specifies the proxy server IP address or name to use for FTP connection.
- File Name - specifies the full path of the database file on remote server.
Note: Please consult your network administrator in case you don't know what values to use for any fields.
