RegKeeper - e-Sales Tracking Software

E-mail Templates Manager

The E-mail Templates Manager is a tool used to create e-mail message templates. You can use the templates for sending both automatic e-mail notifications to your customers or to manually send e-mail message to one or more customers.

To open the E-mail Templates Manager, click on Templates Manager in the Tools menu.

To add a new template, click New in the Template menu (or the corresponding tool button). RegKeeper will prompt you to enter the template name. Now you can edit the template's body.

Type in the e-mail message's text. You can use template tags from the list on left hand side of the window. Template tags are used in order to automatically insert the values of the respective database fields whilst composing an e-mail message. Most used template tags are displayed in the General tab. All other available field tags can be selected in the Other tab. To add a template tag double-click or drag-and-drop it into the message body area.

Enter your name into the From (name) box, your e-mail address into the From (e-mail) box, a list of recipients that should receive a carbon copy of the message into the CC (e-mail) field, and a list of recipients that should receive a blind carbon copy of the message into the BCC (e-mail) field. Enter the subject into the Subject box. Enter e-mail address in Send read confirmation to field to receive read confirmation on this e-mail. If you need to send fully customizable e-mail with all customer details formatted to other e-mail than customer's provide it in Overwrite destination with field. In this case RegKeeper will parse your template when sending e-mail with actual customer information but will send e-mail only to address specified in this field.

You can also use template tags in the subject field.

You can save or load template tags from text files. Just click the corresponding menu item on the File menu.

Using Encoding field you can specify what encoding to use when creating e-mail message. If your data may contain Unicode strings it is recommended to use utf-8 as encoding.

Select HTML in the Format field if you want the message to be sent as HTML formatted message. Enter your HTML text in WYSIWYG editor.

Email will be sent with UTF-8 encoding when using HTML template.

You can use the Templates|Attach menu to add, remove or update files attached to this template.

You can easily create a new template based on the selected one by clicking Template | Duplicate in the menu. This will create a new template item with all the fields re-used from the template which is currently selected.

You can click on button to hide additional fields.
