Add/Edit Product Dialog
This dialog allows you to add new products or edit the properties of an existing product.
Product Data
Both the Product Identifier and Product Name fields are used to identify the product in an incoming order. However, the Product Name is the field used as a caption for a product button in the Products bar. Click the Image box to select or load an image for the product. It is possible to use a predefined image, as well as to load it from a file, or to re-use an image from an existing product. This image will be displayed on the Products bar.
Note that the size of the image should be 42 by 42 pixels. If the image does not match this size RegKeeper will stretch the image.
The Unlock code may be used in an e-mail template when you send an automatic order processing notification.
Use the Keys List button to manually enter the registration keys that will be used as Unlock codes. RegKeeper will retrieve the first item each time needed, and automatically delete this value from the list.
Use the Keys File field to specify the text file which contains registration keys to insert into e-mail messages when generating keys. File should contain one key in one line. RegKeeper will retrieve the first item each time needed, and automatically delete this value from the list and update the file.
In the Custom key generator field, you can specify the custom key generator DLL to be used for this product only. For more information, see Automatic key generation.
With RegKeeper, unlock codes are generated in the following order:
- Use the value of the Unlock code field for product.
- If the Unlock code field is empty, use keys from the list defined for the product.
- If the keys list is empty, use keys from the text file for the product.
- If the keys file is empty, or doesn't exist, use the Custom key generator if possible.
- If no Custom key generator is available, then RegKeeper will try to generate the unlock code using an external plug-in. For more information see Automatic key generation.
Templates
Enter an invoice template file, so that RegKeeper can generate an invoice based on a product order.
Check the Auto-generate invoice number box and enter the template pattern to automatically generate an Invoice number when processing an order for this product.
Check the Auto-generate transaction ID box and enter the template pattern to automatically generate a Transaction ID field when processing an order for this product.
Check the Send e-mail box to automatically send e-mail message to the customer using the specified e-mail template when processing an order for this product.
Select the product's e-mail template that will be used when sending an e-mail to a customer on new order processing. Also this e-mail template will be used as the default product's template when sending an e-mail from the main form.
Auto-keys e-mail template allows to define an e-mail template to be used in the auto-keys module for this product.
Bundle and CustomFields
On Bundle tab it is possible to configure if the selected product will be a bundle of others. Activate the This product is a bundle option and add sub-products to this bundle using the Add button. To modify bundled products use the Edit, Delete and Clear buttons. After that, if the Show bundled orders is activated in RegKeeper's options, orders from this product will also be displayed in the all orders list of sub-products listed in a bundle, with sales value respective to the configured bundle percentage.
Custom Fields enables additional data associated with products to be stored and used. To create custom fields for products table just use Custom Fields dialog. Custom fields can be used later in e-mail templates as a ($[FieldName]) tag and this tag will be replaced with the field value.
Notes
The Notes field may be used to enter any additional information about the product.
It is possible to import product data from a PAD XML file. Just click on the Import PAD button to locate the PAD file.
